Ni No Kuni Cross Worlds Class Active Skills

Active skills are used like Class skills in battle, by tapping on their icon in the battle action ring menu. You can assign up to three at a time once all slots are unlocked; if you are using decks, you will need to assign skills for each deck individually. Each skill has an associated cooldown time before it can be used again.

The skills listed here can be used by any class. Once a skill is learned (or leveled up) you can assign it to any/all of your classes without limitation. You can use a combination of class-specific and all-class skills, allowing you to create highly customized attack loadouts.

These skills can be learned by acquiring magic books from various sources. You can farm skill pages in the Chaos Dungeons, which can be traded for certain magic books with either Muse or other players. Other books can be acquired directly from Dimension Boundary, or through various packs in the shop. Several books can only be acquired by spending money in the shop.

As you level up a skill, more books (and sometimes higher star level books) will be required to keep leveling it up. Leveling up a skill will increase its attack power, but will not reduce its cooldown time nor extend the length of any debuffs it inflicts or its range.

Fire skills

Firecracker

Action: Shoots a firecracker in a straight line in front of you and damages one enemy. The firecracker explodes, doing small AOE damage around the point of impact.

Range: Single target for initial hit, small area around target for AOE

Cooldown: 25s

Recommendation: Poor, a weak attack that is outclassed by other fire skills

Flame Storm

Action: Summons a firey tornado around a target, doing multiple hits of AOE damage around the target.

Range: Small area around a target

Cooldown: 40s

Book source: Dimensional Boundary (Neitram/wood dragon)

Recommendation: Good: multihit AOE damage skill

Meteor Strike

Action: Summons a large meteor to strike an area around a target. Inflicts stun.

Range: Large area around a target

Cooldown: 50s

Recommendation: Good: strong single hit over a large area and inflicts a very powerful debuff

Water skills

Water Bomb

Action: Drops a large ball of water on a single target

Range: Single target

Cooldown: 25s

Recommendation: Average: fairly powerful with a short cooldown but single target

Blizzard

Action: Summons an icy storm around the character which does multiple hits of damage; inflicts movement speed down

Range: Large area around character

Cooldown: 50s

Recommendation: Good: multihit attack with good range and an okay debuff

Tidal Wave

Action: Sends a wave of water in front of character that damages anything it hits

Range: Linear path in front of character

Cooldown: 40s

Recommendation: Okay: fairly strong attack but limited path and single hit per target

Wood skills

Leaf Slash

Action: Sends leaves at a target which slash for up to 3 hits

Range: Single target

Cooldown: 25s

Recommendation: Okay: short cooldown multihit attack but single target, individual hits are weak

Thorn Trap

Action: Summons thorns from the ground to attack a small area around the target; does several hits and inflicts bound

Range: Small area around a target

Cooldown: 50s

Recommendation: Good: strong multihit attack with decent range and a good debuff

Earth Spike

Action: Summons boulders from the ground to attack a large area around the target

Range: Large area around target

Cooldown: 40s

Recommendation: Good: Strong attack with good range, even though it’s a single hit per target

Light skills

Shining Orb

Action: Sends a large orb in front of character that damages anything it hits; inflicts stun

Range: Linear path in front of character

Cooldown: 25s

Recommendation: Poor: strong attack with good debuff but poor pathing and slow speed limits its effectiveness

Light’s Judgement

Action: Summons multiple pillars of light in a large area around a target that do multiple hits of damage

Range: Large area around a target

Cooldown: 50s

Recommendation: Good: individual hits are weak but good range and hits multiple times

Lightning Strike

Action: Summons multiple bolts of lightning which strike around the character for multiple hits, inflicts stun

Range: Large area around character

Cooldown: 40s

Recommendation: Varies: Strong attack with good debuff, but requires spending money in the game, and won’t be acquired until the end of the login pass (14 days)

Dark skills

Dark Balloon

Action: Summons a large balloon over a target, balloon bursts and does multiple hits of damage, inflicts bound

Range: Small area around target

Cooldown: 25s

Recommendation: Very good: short cooldown for a ranged multihit attack with a decent debuff

Starfall

Action: Summons multiple meteors which strike randomly around the character, inflicts movement speed down

Range: Large area around character

Cooldown: 50s

Recommendation: Decent: individual hits are weak and random but many meteors are summoned to hit the area, includes a decent debuff

Phantom Shooter

Action: Shoots a discus in front of character, which damages both on the trip away from character and on the trip back to the character, inflicts stun

Range: Linear path in front of character

Cooldown: 40s

Recommendation: Varies: Good attack that hits twice and has a strong debuff, limited pathing offset by the fast speed of attack; requires spending money on the game
